GROUP FITNESS CLASSES
This is a freestyle class based on the needs of the class and style of instructor. Class sites include the gym, studio or outdoors depending on season. Team activities may be included in this class

Staying strong through our lives is vital to ensure our independence. Through this class you will increase your metabolism, improve bone density, and strengthen your muscles through the use of a variety of strength resistance equipment in studio

Move to the music through a variety of fun exercises designed to increase muscular strenth, range of movement and activities for daily living. Hand-held weights, elastic tubing with handles and SilverSneakers balls are offered for resistance. A chair is available if needed for seated or standing support.

Yoga will move your whole body through a complete series of seated and standing yoga poses. Chair support is offered to safely perform a variety of seated and standing postures designed to increase flexibility, balance and range of movement. Restorative breathing exercises and final relaxation will promote stress reduction and mental clarity.

Volunteer led exercises consists of stretching and strengthening, as well as aerobic walking. This is an excellent way to keep muscles flexible and strong, which is very important for preventing falls and injury.

Beginning an exercise program and don’t know where to start? Do you want to fine-tune what you are currently doing? This fall we are introducing Personal training at the MVCC YMCA. Whether you want to exercise at the community center, at home or a mix of both, we have a certified personal trainer who can get you to your fitness goals. Our trainer can personalize workouts based on your lifestyle—from being sedentary to or more active. We will assess your goals and needs, and support your path to a healthy lifestyle. We offer a wide variety of ways you can explore personal training

Small Group Training
Work out with four to eight other participants and a Personal Trainer. You and your small group will participate in a specialty class once a week for seven weeks

Group Exercise Classes
There is no pre-registration required for any of our Group Exercise classes and you're welcome at any time. Open to ages 15 and up, ages 10-14 can attend with a guardian.
