Commissions
The Comprehensive Plan is a 20-year plan of how the City intends to guide land use and redevelopment to be consistent with the Metropolitan Council’s regional plan (Thrive MSP 2040). It includes nine categories; Land Use, Transportation, Wastewater, Surface Water, Water Supply, Parks & Trails, Housing, Environmental Resilience, and Economic Competitiveness. Mounds View, along with all counties, cities, and townships within the seven-county metro, is required to update its Comprehensive Land Use Plan every ten years (2018). Mounds View is required to submit a Plan update to the Metropolitan Council by December 31, 2018.
The Comprehensive Plan Taskforce is a volunteer board of Mounds View residents charged with guiding the process. The Commission consists of nine members appointed by the City Council, representing the City Council (1 member), Planning Commission (2 members), Economic Development Commission (2 members), Parks and Recreation and Forestry Commission (2 members), and At-Large residents (2 members). Comprehensive Plan Taskforce meetings are held in the City Council Chambers on the second and fourth Tuesdays of the month, at 7:00 pm.
