Water Main Flushing

Fire hydrants are opened each spring and fall to flush out sediment from the water main pipes.  You may experience low water pressure or discoloration in your tap water for a short time during flushing operations.  lf you experience a brownish discoloration in your tap water, please open and run the faucets until the tap water runs clear again.

Caution should also be noted for washing clothes during flushing operations – remember to check the water color in your washer at every fill cycle.  If you notice brownish water in the washer, discontinue the cycle until you notice clear water again so clothing is not stained.

NOTE: Water main flushing will occur the week of April 23, 2018, between the hours of 7am and 4pm.
